talkSPORT.com takes a look at Friday’s biggest transfer rumours and gossip, with Erling Haaland wanted by Man City and Manchester United tying down one of their brightest prospects…
Man City have been linked with a £100million summer move for Haaland. The 20-year-old has scored a stunning 27 goals in only 29 Bundesliga appearances since joining Borussia Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg last year. Haaland would be seen as a replacement for Man City legend Sergio Aguero, who is out of contract this summer.
Alan Shearer has urged Man City to sign Haaland, Tottenham’s Harry Kane or Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe this summer. Mbappe is yet to sign a new deal with PSG, while Kane could leave Spurs if they fail to finish in a European spot this season. Jose Mourinho’s side have won just two of their last 10 matches, with their latest setback coming in a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea.
Tottenham have been told to buy a ‘premium’ central defender in the wake of Eric Dier’s performance in Thursday’s 1-0 loss to the Blues. The England international gave away a needless penalty as he brought down Timo Werner in the box with Jorginho converting the match-winning spot-kick. In addition to that mistake, Dier almost scored a comical own goal when his lofty pass was headed away from goal by Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
Manchester United starlet Shola Shoretire has agreed a new contract with the club, despite interest from PSG, Bayern Munich and Barcelona. The 17-year-old winger has been tipped to make his senior debut THIS SEASON having already trained with the first-team. Shoretire is regarded as one of the most exciting teenagers in Europe. (Mail)
Former Man United striker Odion Ighalo has completed his move to Saudi Arabian Pro League club Al Shabab. The 31-year-old’s year-long loan spell with the Red Devils from Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua came to an end last month. Ighalo scored five goals in 22 appearances for United.
Simon Jordan believes Gareth Bale should be sent to play football in China amid his disastrous loan spell with Tottenham. There were high hopes when the Welshman rejoined Spurs on loan from Real Madrid last summer. However, he has failed to replicate the form that saw him sign for the Spanish giants in a then world record £85m deal in 2013. Bale has scored four goals and started just two Premier League matches for the Lilywhites.
Dimitar Berbatov says Real Madrid should think about selling Eden Hazard this summer. The Belgium captain has been plagued by injury since joining Los Blancos for an initial £89m from Chelsea in 2019. On top of that, Hazard has managed to score only four goals for the LaLiga champions. In his latest injury setback, Hazard is currently sidelined with a thigh problem. (Marca)
Jack Harrison has revealed ‘something is already in place’ to make his loan move to Leeds a permanent one from Man City. The 24-year-old winger is in his THIRD season on loan at Elland Road and has made 112 appearances in that time. Harrison, who has scored five goals and registered four assists this season, will cost around £10m. (Yorkshire Evening Post)
