Stuart Dallas is hoping Marcelo Bielsa stays at Leeds ‘for a few more years’ amid reports suggesting he is set to sign a two-year extension to his deal at Elland Road.

According to La Nacion in Argentina, the 65-year-old intends to extend his stay with the Whites, but there has been no official word from the club as of yet.

Elland Road cult hero Bielsa, who penned a one-year extension after guiding Leeds back into the Premier League following a 16-year exile last year, said back in February that Leeds should not rush when it comes to making the decision over whether to extend his contract.

But Dallas – who hit a brilliant brace as they stunned Man City with ten-men in a 2-1 victory at the Etihad this weekend – is hopeful the veteran boss remains at the club in the coming years.

“We’re all hoping that he stays,” he told talkSPORT.

“What he’s done for us as individuals is incredible. The core of our squad was a mid-table Championship team three years ago and now we’re a mid-table Premier League team.

“It’s been incredible and the changes he’s made throughout the club has been phenomenal.

“Hats off to the hierarchy of the club and hopefully he’s here for another few years yet.”
