The date for Miss Universe 2020 has finally been confirmed.
It would be recalled that the pageant was called off in 2020 due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
But organizers of the Pageant have settled on May 16, 2021, as the date to hold the event.
Miss Universe 2020 is scheduled to be held in United States.
The Pageant is billed to be held over a period of seven days.
African Entertainment is informed that all coronavirus safety protocols are to be followed as was the case with Miss USA 2020 and Miss Teen USA 2020 competition.
The organizers have since sent an email to national directors of Miss Universe, informing them about the date and arrangements for the pageant in May.
The email read: “With the utmost respect and consideration for your hard work, after many internal discussions, in addition to consultations with health officials and immigration experts, we are pleased to announce we have set our schedule for the 69th Miss Universe competition to be held on 16th May 2021 in the United States. While we will have more information on the COVID protocols which we will need to follow in the coming weeks, we anticipate we will be observing the strict procedure we established and followed at the Miss USA event this past November, including a reduction in audience capacity.”
African Entertainment has gathered that only 67 candidates have been confirmed to partake in the upcoming Miss Universe Pageant, which is the 69th edition.
Ghana is returning to the competition after it withdrew from it in 2019.
The reigning Miss Universe is Zozibini Tunzi from South Africa.
